I just had to mention http://www.oregontrail.com/hmh/site/oregontrail/home. I used to play this game in elementary school.
Now that we have seen the best in instructional design. Let us see the rest. Listed below of examples of 5 of the worst educational games.
5 of the worst educational games or software:
Donkey Kong Jr. Math - Your children will not really learn math on this website.
Spanish for Everyone - This game is very racist, so I don't think you want your kids learning Spanish using this game.
Mario's Time Machine - It may be too distracting for a child to focus on learning history with this format.
Wally Bear and the No Game- This is supposed to be a game to get students to just say no to drugs, but comes across as being corny and a little stereotypical.
Freedom: The Underground Railroad Game - I would not recommend playing this game at school. The makers of the digital game got sued. It is good in theory, but only play it at home.
